Tropical Impressions (Click on photos to enlarge)

The client loves Costa Rica and the tropical rain forests. They wanted their four-season room to have a tropical feel. The design had to incorporate a drum on a shelf as well as a painted ox-cart in a niche both of which were already in the room.

Faux stones were painted around the existing niche and were used to "build" a false niche to "frame" the drum. Over the doorway the client's name is written in Mayan glyphs where two macaws perch. On the opposite side is a capuchin monkey among some bromeliads.

Two macaws perch above the Mayan glyph that spells out the homeowner's name phonetically.
